Thank you for including the mistakes along the way! I'm early in my engineering path and I sometimes question whether or not I'm meant to be an engineer when I struggle with these types of mistakes... So it's definitely reassuring to see a seasoned engineer also make mistakes and argue with the tedious little details of a project! Also sounds like you might want to go down to the Home Depot parking lot and hire some helping hands with all those dang triangles you have to make! 😅 How long do you estimate the total project is going to take? Also, just curious--How much of the details of the whole project do you plan ahead? (i.e., budget, time, blueprints, etc.)

could the discrepancy be due to 2x lumber not being a full 2"?

Oh, shapes and colors and sides and edges and surfaces and points and vectors and... :D 2D shapes have edges. 3D shapes have sides. Technically because the triangles you're making have depth they're 3D and they have sides, but for the drawing they are 2D edges. The drawing has 3 edges therefore, and the triangles you're making have 8 sides. whuuu? I hear you say. Well, consider... the three outside sides, the two 'surface' sides, and the three inside sides. 3+2+3=8. Of course, there's possibly the consideration the 'surface' sides are 3 separate sides each stick, so there's really 3+6+3=12 sides... but then each end of the 2x4s are a side, so there's another 3 to add, so that's 15... Or is that now surfaces... ...my brain hurts. :p For this purpose, go with the 2D drawing and use edges, but call them sides because 3D part, because for now it's all you wanna know. 3 sides then. As far as top/bottom/left/right/outside/inside/upper/lower/?... All your own perspective and/or relative to the next parts they attach to... or the ground. For the triangle, whatever's down on the ground is the bottom, the top point is up, then the two sides are left and right, depending on your perspective, as long as that perspective isn't directly from above or down a side, in which case it may be front or back, or maybe... *head explodes*

just a question about rollercoaster building. To bend PVC track do I just put down the supports and screw the PVC pipe to the support or do I heat up the PVC first? I was wondering because I watched a video of you building a rollercoaster and I couldn't quite tell because it was time lapsed but it looked like you were just bending the PVC pipe and screwing to the supports without heating them up and it just stayed.

Wow, working off a piece of paper. I built domes for years, and you're not building triangles they have to have pitch too, taking bets on how long before you find a dome guy and get real information. The pitch has to be built into each triangle like i said last time.

Why not have a food and garden festival for theming with international foods? You could use your live birds as mascots like Epcot has its Orange Bird at Epcot's International Flower & Garden Festival.

unrelated to epcot itself so it may be a bad idea but a thing a drop tower of some sort would be super cool

For the ConnetiCOT's restaurant, since Disney just built that space restaurant where all the windows are screens looking out into space, maybe you could build a small restaurant where the floor is a screen and you look down into a mineshaft, or are flying in the air, or there's shark infested water below, etc.

How long do the coves need to be?

When using the hole saw do I have to drill at the middle of the hole saw.
